Amazing grace! How sweet the sound

that saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost but now I’m found,

was blind, but now I see.

‘Twas grace that thaught my heart to fear

and grace my fears relieved.

How precious did that grace appear

the hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares

I have already come.

‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,

and grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me:

His word my hope secures.

He will my shield and portion be

as long as life endures.

Mirabile grazia! Come dolce è il suono che salvò un miserabile come me. Una volta mi ero perso, ma ora mi sono ritrovato, ero cieco ma ora vedo. 

La grazia insegnò al mio cuore a temere e diede sollievo alla mia paura. Quanto preziosa apparve quella grazia nell’ora in cui incominciai a credere.

Ho già superato pericoli, insidie e trabocchetti, la grazia mi ha portato salvo fin qui, e la grazia mi condurrà a casa. 

Il Signore mi ha promesso il bene: la Sua Parola rende salda la mia speranza. Egli sarà il mio scudo e il mio destino finché avrò vita.
