how Jesus the Savior did come for to die

When Mary birthed Jesus, ‘twas in a cow’s stall,

with wise men and farmers and shepherds and all;

but high from the heavens a star’s light did fall

and the promise of ages it then did recall.

If Jesus had wanted for any wee thing,

a star in the sky or a bird on the wing,

or all of God’s angels in heaven for to sing,

He surely could have it ‘cause he was the King.

Mentre cammino sotto il cielo mi stupisco che Gesù il Salvatore sia venuto a morire per la povera gente, meschina come me e te. 

Maria diede alla luce Gesù in una stalla, con intorno i re magi, i contadini, i pastori e tutta la gente. Ma dall’alto dei cieli scese la luce di una stella che ricordò la promessa fatta da secoli. 

Se Gesù avesse voluto qualsiasi piccola cosa, una stella del cielo o un uccellino che volasse, o che tutti gli angeli di Dio cantassero nei cieli, avrebbe potuto averla, perché era il Re.
